Introduction

I won’t go into depth about WHY I had to lift at Planet Fitness today, because that’s not important, but I’m out of town, and a friend told me I could go to her gym as a guest. I later discovered that this “gym” was Planet Fitness. “Goodness me,” I exclaimed.

Chapter 1 - First…

entirely agree 20,000% with the conclusion.

we don’t have PF here thank the gods but I could see a similar model catching on. Just another organisation telling people what they want to hear in order to take their money, and then actually keeping them fat.

For shame.

I wonder how much weight i’m really capable of squatting.
I’ve been @25kg for a while now, because I can’t lift more than that above my head -don’t worry, I lift the bar in good form, yet it’d be more convenient to have a squat rack- but I think I could do way better if I had one.

…or just, you…

ugh. some of the female trainers at my old gym where like that. Sort of “this is the most a female should lift” approach. Nice ladies but just… “misguided” I will say.

so i’d get the female clients and be like “that looks way too easy, go heavier”… and then keep making them go heavier until i could see THAT look and I’d go “that’s what I’m talking about, that’s what I’m looking for”. and then they ask “so how long before I should try to go heavier” and I would say “every time you come into the gym try to do a little bit more than last time”.

people looked at me like I had 2 heads or something but my people were the ones who’s bodies actually changed.

It seems my idea of beauty changed over this past year. I still dig the dorky chicks, but I have more of an attraction to women who are athletic. They understand the meaning of hard work and most likely have worked for the current state of their body. The mindset you need to put yourself in the…

that’s the thing right… I once got accused of being “shallow” by this female who noticed I was usually only attracted to relatively “in shape” women, and maybe I should be less superficial and be interested in who they are as a person rather than what they look like.

people don’t get it. it’s not superficial at all. You don’t just like them because they look like that, the thing is that looking like tells you what sort of a person they are likely to be. Someone who knows what they want, is smart enough to work out how to get it, and prepared to put in the hard work required. Also you’ve got something in common with them that you’re passionate about… that’s important right?

Someone you can admire, respect, and be inspired by. What is there that’s more attractive than that?

Anyway I don’t talk to that woman any more, because I realised she was a cunt. :O)

ps: to my bigger girls on here who are doing their best, you’re awesome too. Keep it up!

Buying chocolate to melt/finish baking on a 34 degree day. Do I just take my saucepan outside?
