fkn good session! these vids are of one arm dumbbell rows which is my horizontal pulling movement of choice. POWER section of today’s workout.
you can see i’m using a decline bench so perhaps it’s not quite a true horizontal pull, but close enough for jazz. I decided that I feel more confident of good spinal posture on this bench.
With a lighter weight + more reps I would be talking about pulling back hard, SQUEEEEZING those back muscles and gradually releasing the contraction back to the starting position. At these weights though (55 & 60kg) it’s just a matter off pulling back hard and explosively, and then controlling the descent as best you can. You can see on the last rep it just crashes to the floor and drags me down with it… so, compared to that, you can see there’s still some degree of control on the earlier reps.
Note how hard I’m breathing and stuff after each set. That’s what it’s supposed to look like, this aint fkn tiddlywinks man!
